The Neighborhood. This is a new game feature that made its debut in NBA 2K18. It’s more than just a game mode, it’s a social hub. Players will need access to the internet to enjoy what The Neighborhood has to offer. This is the place where all player created characters (MyPlayer) can interact. There are lots of activities here. All sorts of competitions can be played in venues and arenas. Stores that sell customization apparel will offer an extensive range of items. Gyms and training facilities allow players to improve their condition.

MyLeague Online. One of the modes that can be played online and offline, MyLeague offers a different experience than career modes. This mode is played by those who want to manage more than just one player. League managers will have entire teams to take care of and also other managerial duties. The core gameplay for this mode is not that different from previous game iterations but modifications were made. For example, teams can now be relocated and given another branding. Admins have more privileges such as restarting playoff matches.

MyTeam. A players’ favorite, MyTeam returns to NBA 2K18 MT with more cards to collect and new ways to play it. Just like in the older versions, this mode is based on acquiring cards. The most common way to get cards is to buy packs that contain them but they can also be obtained as a reward and by buying them from other players. The cards are used to make teams that will participate in competitive multiplayer activities and single player challenges.

Pro-Am. This is a competitive multiplayer mode. Pro-Am is the mode that was used for the first qualifying stage of NBA 2K league. Players were required to have 50 Pro-Am wins to qualify for the next phase.

Nintendo Switch Local Play. As the name suggests, this mode can only be played on a Nintendo Switch console. Up to four players can use Play Now to enjoy a match.
