What’s New in Update 5 of FIFA 19

FIFA 19 has received some improvements and fixes in Update 5. Several changes were made to the gameplay. There were some modifications regarding the effectiveness of the shots in case the speed of the lateral ball was high. It won’t be that easy achieving those kicks anymore as the accuracy, speed, and spin have changed. Players with high finishing attributes had a better chance of making these kicks but these chances were also reduced. In this particular situation, the speed of the lateral ball is the degrees difference of the incoming angle of the ball and player and the angle made by the shot and the foot of the player. The difference occurs in four situations: 0 to 90, 180 to 90, 180 to 270, and 0 to 270.

Some changes regarding the goal kick were also made. It’s less likely now that such a kick aimed close to a receiving player will go into open space. The defending center backs are now closer to each other. If an attacking and defending player are in a contested ball situation, the defender has more chances to move to the spot where the ball will land. If the elastico move is performed, the ball has more chances to stay near the player that dribbles. Players are not able to score a goal by crashing into the keeper while holding the ball anymore. This move is still possible but the player will get a foul and the goal will not count anymore. Ultimate Team and some online modes were also revised. In UT mode, players will be able to see how chemistry impacts attributes. This is displayed in the roles tab that is found under the team management screen. The issue that prevented player attributes from being displayed is fixed. The normal player and concept player error message in squad building challenge mode was also fixed. Some visual fixes were also implemented. Five more boots are available in the player customization menu. Some 2D portraits were updated and also some team kits and banners. The updates are automatically applied.
